1. To me progress if defined as gaining or getting closer to something.

2. The early 20th century was the progressive era because it was the time when people made progress in better working conditions, corrupt governments, and better living conditions in slums.

4.All progressive reforms seemed to think the government could solve all of the problems and make life better in general.
