News Post Cycle 2

This news post talks about various state agriculture departments closing due to threats. Who would threaten agriculture departments? Farmers? The FBI is seeing if the threats are credible which seems near impossible nowadays with all the ways people can use the internet

News Post Cycle 2

According to this post, "foreign" hackers have taken to the political polls. It was hacked in order to steal i.d. information but that makes me wonder if theres some way that the hackers could edit the voter turnout without anyone noticing.  It seems like nowadays anything involving the internet poses a threat to the people on it.

This video is an interview with Dolly Parton on her view on the presidential race, and i totally agree with her. She talks about the candidates saying they are both nuts and how the political race has become a reality tv show. I think they each need to stop talking about eachother and talk about the people. The two candidates are acting like middleschoolers who keep holding a grudge and spreading gossip.

This post talks about how a total of 26 walgreens stores will now be selling birth control pills. It was made a big deal because the company running those walgreens stores is a nonprofit catholic organization. I think this was the right thing because religion shouldnt change what the government and major corporations do, as the United States is a very diverse country. Choices should be made based on the people and country, not ones religious values. And while some disagree with things like abortion, and while there are other options, people should be able to access things wether others like it or not.

News Post Cycle 1

Last year i wrote a paper on the issues on gun control, and after that plus watching this video, i lost even more hope in the media. The videos clearly show protesters harassing trump supporters in ways such as spitting and throwing trash. Yet the same people are the ones protesting against trump and say he is the bad one. This connects to how the protesters in Milwaukee burned down their own town after a armed black person was shot by a black cop. They seem to have lost their logic and are using it as an excuse for violence. I think the people of the country are finally realizing that and starting to turn against the groups and their actions.

News Post Cycle 1

This post talked about Obamas handling of the Louisiana floods. Upon watching the video it turns out Obama was on vacation in Marthas Vineyard despite the flooding and other events such as the Milwaukee riots. It isnt that bad as he did undertake some action such as sending others to the scene and declaring a state of emergency, the video showed a clip of Obama criticizing George Bush over his reaction to Katrina, yet now he is almost doing the same thing which is ironic. However he will be going down on Tuesday which isn't as bad as some have made it seem.

This warning to stockpile in a place like Germany just seems like another normal thing nowadays with all the terrorist attacks. It makes me question why they keep on letting refugees in. On one hand i completely understand as it provides a home for people trying to escape death and war. On the other hand its a free entry pass for terrorist trying to get into Germany. With the way its been turning out for European countries, I have to say it would be best to keep the refugees out. Because even with background checks like the government claims, they will still get in.

News Post Cycle 1

After reading this it is clearly evident that Hillary Clinton exposed classified documents. Im sure that had happened before due to mistakes, but this wasn't a mistake. In various interviews where Clinton was questioned about the documents, Clinton said she used only one device and followed all classified document protocol. However the FBI investigation clearly countered all of Clinton's statements, saying she used multiple devices and did so with "extreme carelessness". While this is a mistake that I can see anybody making, Clinton denied the claims in various interviews which were under sworn testimony. The article also says many other government individuals would suffer consequences from the action, yet Clinton gets away free while also still running for president

Political News Post Cycle 1

After reading this it sounds like Russia is edging more and more towards war in Ukraine. From what is going on with the two sides fighting, one being Russian backed. It sounds like Russia is practically already in the war. The two sides keep on saying different things, but overall it sounds like Russia is moving forces towards the Ukraine border. Wether that be to try and scare people and make the surrender, or planning to invade, the forces seem to only be escalating the tension more. Wether that be a good or bad thing, is left for the future to decide.

Beginning of AP Gov

So far in AP gov we have done various things. One of those is taking the Political typology quiz and also the modern political news quiz. Those helped us realize how the young generation we are part of has distanced from politics while the older adults have grown closer, greatly changing the results of votes. The article on Most/Religious states shows that the south eastern states are the most religious, while the Northern and Eastern states tend to be the least religious. The interviewers found the data for that by interviewing people which could be inaccurate due to people not telling the truth. The people might be lying due to their location. For example in Vermont you would be shamed less to be unreligious as compared to in Alabama where one might be dissed for being nonreligious. Political scientist could be interested in this because the data could show the areas where more elderly live due to the elderly staying religious while more and more young people stray from religion. The religious data could show how the conservative side of politics is going to be losing ground as the appeal more to the religious side, which is shrinking. While the liberal side will be growing due to the nonreligious percent growing which supports the liberals.
