Recentley many events have been going down outside of the United States but we are too busy with our own problems to pay attention to any of those. One of the biggest events is the scandal of the South Korean president. The issue has stemmed from apparent evidence that the leade, Park, was practically being used a a puppet figure by others. While this is a big issue, I believe it also shows how corrupt the American government is and how we are doing nothing about it. There are thousands of protesters there currently, demanding a change. However here, in the United States, something worse can happen and people act like it never did. Everybody complains and wants a change, but never take the opportunity to make it.

The recent massive payment to Iran stirred up a large amount of controversy and people critcizing Obama, and now it seems like what they said is right. Following the 400 million payed to Iran, which happened to go down on the day 4 American prisoners were released, more Iranian-Americans have been imprisoned in Iran. I think that the payment wasn't a smart move because as we can see, Iran is now using that as a opporunity to take more prisoners to get more money. Along with that, Iran is said to be supporting terrorist groups that the United States is going against, so the United States is practically funding their own enemies.

Recently the leader of the phillipines has taken various steps for cutting ties with the United States. That has been in ways such as taking all united states troops from the phillipines, something that has been going on for a long time. It seems like one reason he is doing so is due to the United States having a colonial precense there for a long time. Which i somewhat understand as taking the troops away would give the phillipines more of a sense of freedom. However while going away from the U.S., they are now turning to China, making agreements with them which could cause more tension between the U.S., phillipines, and china.

Following up on reading this news post I discovered that the OSCE(Organization for Security and Cooperation) foreign corporation sends observers over to look at people at places such as polling sites and rallies. Some states allow it while others don't which makes it seem even weirder. Seems like that could easily be worked around as somebody could pose as a tourist showing up at the rallies. There will be a total off 500 observers which seems like a whopping number, especially compared to the 44 people sent over in the 2012 election. There isn't any info on whether the observers come from one specific country or if they are an international group. It seems like that could definitely stir up heat regarding how people think Russia is interfering with the elections. Russia is aware of that and wanting to avoid accusations by only having 1 person observing the elections, and that one person being a staff member of the company managing the observers. Only 8 states allow observers which makes me think that the 500 spectators are even more unnecessary. Either way, in my opinion there's no reason to send spectators when they could just watch the news.

Missouri Race

The current race for Missouri definitely seems more intense and interesting than other races. Upon doing some research I found that Missouri has tended to be a Republican state in the past, giving the Republicans an advantage in the senate. However now the democratic candidate Jason Kander is giving the current republican senator roy blunt a run for his money. Many assume all democrats are liberals, just like republicans are seen as conservative, so Blunt had been attempting to label Kander as a liberal in a mainly conservative state. However Kander shot back real quick with his video assembling a ar-15 while blindfolded. While Trump will win Missouri no doubt, Kander winning the seat in the senate could give democrats the position to control the senate. While Missouri is only 10 points in the presidential election, neither presidential candidate has made any competition. The biggest donations for each side have originated out of state, showing how much a advantage in the senate means. What makes it really interesting is how Trump's campaign seems to be helping Kander. Trump has been criticizing many people in the government as being "insiders" and Kander has used that to label Blunt as one of those insiders. So he has made it seem that Trump's entire message is to get rid of Blunt, making the republican Trump supporters of Missouri vote for a democratic senator.

The results of Hurricane Matthew have lived up to the name weather reports said about it. So far 30 people have died due to the hurricane. I dont mean to sound rude but they were warned to leave so thats what they get for not listening to the numerous warnings. While the hurricane is devastating to the United states, Haiti definitely got it worse with more than 300 deaths. Unlike America, they couldn't escape the hurricane as easily. Along with buildings are rivers not as solid as it is here.

This news post talks about Clinton being "two-faced" for different groups of people in order to gain their vote. "two faced" might be too broad of a term to use for that but i do agree that politicians can change a little but to conform to different groups of people, as long as their ideas still work with ideas they have told other groups. Clinton compared herself to Lincoln, saying he did the same thing. While i do believe that is true, it seems like she is using Lincoln as an excuse to do it. Trump is taking that as an opportunity to put Clinton under fire as Lincoln was known as "honest abe" and Clinton supposedly lied about the email scandal.

While the list of events going down in the middle east is endless, this one seems to be more important than the others. A U.S. ship in the water near Yemen was fired at with missiles by Houthi militants and although each didn't reach their target, it has sparked the United States to consider taking counter measures. The militants are Iranian backed which makes the recent ordeals even more confusing as the United States payed Iran a huge sum of money recently. If the United States attacks back it will most likely agitate Iran which is a bigger problem than a group like ISIS.
